Specifications

  • HEPATOGEN is a Silybin-phospholipid complex, with vitamin E and Zinc whose activity is supplemented by the addition of Curcumin-Phytosome® and a gastro-protected superoxide dismutase (SOD B Extramel®).

Silybin is the substance of choice for supporting liver function:

    - by its direct antioxidant action,
    - by stimulation of the regeneration of liver cells thanks to its ability to facilitate protein synthesis,
    - by helping to normalize the level of liver enzymes,
    - by its ability to selectively increase the hepatic level of glutathione and to oppose the production of lipid peroxides,
    - through its anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic properties which help to inhibit the synthesis of collagen,
    - by stimulating the production of bile salts and their influx.

The bioavailability of Silybin is maximized by its complexation with phospholipids (Phytosome® technique), including phosphatidylcholine which has its own hepato-protective action: this choline reservoir is a natural constituent of bile, which emulsifies lipids and allows their hydrolysis, thus opposing hepatic steatosis. Phosphatidylcholine is capable of being selectively incorporated into hepatocytic membranes and making them more resistant to lipid peroxidation. Its anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrosis properties are added to those of Silybin.

Vitamin E, likewise, protects the phospholipids of cell membranes from lipid peroxidation by forming stabilizing complexes that prevent very destructive chain reactions. This anti-fibrosis activity acts in synergy with those of Silybin and phosphatidylcholine and has been validated in human practice.

Zinc is present for its ability to contain oxidative stress by maintaining an appropriate level of cellular metallothionein involved in the elimination of free radicals.

Chronic inflammation and oxidative stress being aggravating elements, now well identified, of the progression towards fibrosis and then its worrying development, have been added:

    - a very assimilable Curcumin-Phytosome® complex, to help limit inflammatory reactions and oppose the activation of hepatic stellate cells, responsible for hepatic fibrosis,
    - a gastro-protected Superoxide dismutase to activate the endogenous expression of the 3 primary antioxidant enzymes and allow the body's natural defenses to be regenerated as best as possible.

The beneficial increase in hepatic glutathione levels is therefore ensured in HEPATOGEN, by the joint presence of Silybin-phospholipid complexes, Curcumin-Phytosome® and Superoxide dismutase, each of these substances stimulating the synthesis of glutathione.

  • In dogs and cats: support for liver function in cases of chronic liver failure, during worrying developments.

  • HEPATOGEN Feline-Canine: 1 tablet morning and evening, per 5 kg of body weight.

Before use or extension of the duration of use, it is recommended to seek the advice of your veterinarian. The recommended initial period of use is 6 months. Water must be available at all times.

HEPATOGEN is compatible with diets for subjects with heart or kidney failure. The tablets, palatable, are generally taken spontaneously. Otherwise, simply add them to the food, if necessary after crumbling.

  • Store away from heat and humidity. Keep out of sight and reach of children.
